Broadway musical, Grand Hotel, at the Edinburgh Festival.  Other Musical credits include musical direction of Crazy for You, West Side Story, Into the Woods, Little Shop of Horrors & Anything Goes.  Opera productions have included continuo in La Clemenza di Tito and Acis and Galatea. Also Nick made his début at the Ross-on-Wye International Festival as part of Opera Bites, a company specialising in the performance of staged opera extracts.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Nick Bland studied French and Music at the University of Birmingham, L’Institut Britannique de Paris and received practical tuition in both organ and piano at Birmingham Conservatoire. He is also an Associate member of the Royal College of Organists. Nick’s extensive experience includes performances in many Cathedrals, as well as choral tours in the UK and France, which have included concerts in La Madeleine and Sacré Cœur, Paris, New College, Oxford and Eton College, the last of which was broadcast on the BBC World Service.

In addition to his City career, Nick is the Co-founder & Musical Director of the Deutsche Bank Singers whose first concert in November 2004, an opera gala evening, met with resounding success.   Nick also works as a freelance choral conductor, accompanist, organ & piano soloist around the capital and the South East regularly performing with various societies including Birmingham University Singers, East Malling Singers & Billericay Choral Society.

Within the realms of opera and music theatre, highlights include accompanying extracts of an unpublished musical, Saturday Night, by Stephen Sondheim in the presence of the composer as well as being assistant musical director of the
